 Assessment & Treatment Recommendations

The Lily Center, LLC provides a variety of assessment services conducted by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, including Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA), Language Assessments, Social Skills Assessments, and Educational Assessments. Extensive individualized reports and treatment recommendations are included with each assessment.

Functional Behavioral Assessment

Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA)

Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) is used to determine the function of challenging behavior in order to recommend the most effective course of treatment to reduce the frequency and intensity of certain behaviors. Functional Behavioral Assessment includes records review, interviews with parents and caregivers, and direct observation of the behavior in the naturally occurring environment. Assessment may also include a formal Functional Analysis of the challenging behavior. Data is recorded, graphed and interpreted with specific treatment recommendations that can be used to develop a formal Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).

Language Assessments

Language Assessments

Language Assessments are conducted in order to determine which specific language and learning skills the child has and which of these skills are in need of further development. Assessments are conducted over the course of 1-6 sessions using the ABLLS and/or VB-MAPP assessment protocols. Reports include explanation and interpretation of the results in easy to understand language in addition to the formal results. Treatment recommendations are provided and can be used to develop an Individualized Treatment Plan.

Social Skills Assessments

Social Skills Assessments

Social Skills Assessments are useful in determining areas of strength and weakness in interactions with peers, siblings, and family members. Assessments include records review, direct observation, and parent/caregiver interviews in addition to more formal social skills, rating skills and evaluations. Reports include a description of the child’s current level of social skills functioning in addition to recommended treatment options and social skills targets for intervention.

Educational Assessments

Educational Assessments

Educational Assessments include a variety of assessment services related to the child’s educational environment such as formal assessment of the child’s current level of academic functioning and evaluation of the current instructional environment. Direct assessment of academic skills is conducted by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with teacher certification and extensive experience in the field of education. Evaluation of the child’s current educational environment includes parent and teacher interviews, IEP records reviews, and direct observation in school and community settings. Suggested revisions for IEP Goal and Objectives are provided as well.

 INTERVENTION SERVICES

The Lily Center offers a wide range of behavior analysis services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, developmental disabilities, ADHD, or children that just need a bit of extra help in one or two areas. Our primary area of specialization is early intervention and language acquisition. The Executive Director & Founder has extensive experience in Verbal Behavior and Natural Environment Training. Learning opportunities are trained in a fun, play-based environment to the greatest extent possible in combination with intensive teaching trials at the table when appropriate. Our goal is that the child not only “learns to play” but also “plays to learn”.

Direct Professional Behavior Analysis Services

Direct Professional Behavior Analysis Services

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides direct Professional Behavior Analysis Services directly to the client, family, and caregivers at our location in The Heights. The Behavior Analyst utilizes the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in order to increase a variety of pro-social behaviors including, but not limited to, areas of language, social, academic, and functional life skills. Direct Professional Behavior Analysis Services may also be provided to clients in community and home settings on a limited basis.

Focused & Comprehensive in-home ABA Programs

Focused & Comprehensive in-home ABA Programs

Certain children and families require a more intensive Applied Behavior Analysis program. Services are provided at our location in The Heights by highly qualified ABA Therapist/Behavioral Technicians supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This tiered model of support is research based and a cost effective alternative to Direct Professional Behavior Analysis Services for children that require a greater number of treatment hours on a weekly basis. Focused ABA Programs target 1-2 specific behavior reduction and/or skill acquisition areas at a time while a Comprehensive ABA Program addresses multiple skill acquisition and behavior reduction areas at once. A thorough assessment by one of our Board Certified Behavior Analysts will determine the most appropriate approach for each child. These In-home services are complementary to our center-based services and are done a on a case by case basis.

In-home BCBA Consultation

In-home BCBA Consultation

For families that already employ trained ABA Therapists/Behavioral Technicians or choose to hire & manage their own ABA Therapists/Behavioral Technicians, the Lily Center will provide consultation by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for these in-home Applied Behavior Analysis programs. In-home BCBA Consultation can include therapist training, parent training, program development, and program monitoring on a weekly or monthly basis. These In-home services are done on a case by case basis.

Social Skills Groups

Social Skills Groups

Social Skills are a critically essential and yet often neglected aspect of treatment for individuals with Autism and related developmental disabilities. Research has demonstrated that interaction with typically developing peers is an effective way to increase treatment outcomes for Social Skills Training. Children are assigned to Social Skills Groups based on age, functioning level, and interests. Social Skills Groups consist of 6-8 children and 3 staff members and 1-2 peer models.

Private School & District Consultation

Private School & District Consultation

When implemented correctly, techniques based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) are effective for increasing pro-social behaviors and decreasing challenging behavior in any setting, including the classroom environment. However, it is important to recognize that Applied Behavior Analysis looks different in the educational setting than in the clinical setting. All Private School & District BCBA Consultations are conducted by the Executive Director & Founder of The Lily Center, Tyrrell Price.

Tyrrell has extensive experience in the educational setting from classroom teaching experience to experience supervising and developing an integrated preschool for children with and without disabilities. The Behavior Analysts and Staff of The Lily Center will work with your teachers – not against them – in order to partner together to create an environment that is productive and effective for all students in the classroom with and without disabilities. Private School & District Consultation is available for private schools, school districts, and individual families. Consultation for individual families includes attendance at ARD meetings and collaborative consultation on the development of IEP documents.
